Pál Hegyi, Department of American Studies

Associate Professor at the Department of American Studies, ELTE, Pál Hegyi authored numerous studies and reviews on American and Hungarian contemporary literature and popular culture published both in Hungarian and international journals. As literary translator, he has works by Paul Auster, Susan Howe, David Cronenberg, Philip K. Dick, Stephen King, and Elmore Leonard to his name. Following two monographs Paul Auster: Fehér terek [Paul Auster: White Spaces and Lovecraft Laughing: Uncanny Memes in the Weird [Lovecraft mémes kacaja], a third volume on the American Sublime Az amerikai fenségesről – a puritanizmustól a metamodernig [On the American Sublime: From Puritanism to the Metamodern] was released in 2021.
